Hi everyone – I am Terri, a mum (first) and a Senior Manager in a global tech company. I just completed my PhD in the psychology of teamwork in healthcare. This is the science of how practitioners from different professions learn to work together in emergencies and complex care situations, focusing on patient-centred care.

The next stage of my journey is to take the knowledge from my PhD, which is not well known outside of healthcare, and make it relatable so that everyone can learn the skills they need to improve team collaboration. It’s a problem that has been lurking in the shadows causing havoc for many because most people don’t understand that they can improve how teams interact, build mutual trust and develop innovation. These are skills that many are blocked to acquire due to their limiting mindset that they cannot improve how others behave in groups – but you can – and you can improve your own ability too.

My clarity journey is to find the right vehicle to spread this message. I am partway through writing a book that is foundational to these ideas, and then I want to find a way to make this book and the ideas of teamwork skills accessible to as many people as possible.

I worked in the university technology sector for many years and was playing around with some ideas on supporting students welfare with blockchain but it was too early to make this stick. I believe now may be the time to really work on these ideas and find a way forward building around teamwork skills development.
