Thanks for sharing this! I’m in a similar point in my life regarding confidence, body image, negative thinking and depression. The way I see it, the awesome thing about the root of all these problems being inside is that I have 1000% control over it and fixing it depends on me and me alone (which also means I can’t use excuses or put the blame on others, whatever gets or doesn’t get done is on me ????). For me it’s very helpful to believe that.
Einstein said something in the lines of “we can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”. This constantly reminds me that what I’m experiencing are in fact symptoms and treating only them might bring short-term relief, but no real cure. So I need to go further and focus on changing on a deeper level, deep enough to generate a different kind of thinking.
At the moment, it feels to me that the fastest (an by far not the easiest!) way of doing this is to do things that are waaaaay outside of my comfort zone. The stronger the argument I give myself against doing something, the more important it is to actually do it.
Easier said than done, because so far I only tried small ones ???? It kind of worked, though ????
